At Apple's annual shareholder meeting Friday, Cook shot down the suggestion from a conservative, Washington, D.C.-based think tank that Apple give up on environmental initiatives that don't contribute to the company's bottom line.

Video: Lyft Launches in Mpls, Despite City Giving the Red Light

The car sharing service "Lyft" launched in Minneapolis Thursday, despite the city saying it is still technically illegal. The company has been up and running in St. Paul since the summer, where officials with the city say they have received no complaints. In August when they launched, Lyft says they decided to hold off on Minneapolis while their lawyers worked through differences.

have confirmation tonight about something that could electrify albuquerque's future. as many 65 hundred new jobs--- possibly coming our way. today "tesla motors" announced albuquerque is one of the finalists for a factory to build batteries for its electric cars. tesla says it has narrowed it choices to 4 sites. they are albuquerque..... reno, nevada.... arizona and texas. many of you might remember, tesla said it was going to build cars in albuquerque....an d we got all excited. then in 2008, it changed its mind and went to california. so could this be a make good...an electric olive branch. it's too early to tell. tesla says it's ready to invest 2 billion in what it calls its gigafactory...and its partners are ready with another 3 billion. sales of tesla's model s sedan--that starts at about 70 thousand---have been limited by a battery shortage. analysts say tesla needs more batteries if it's to make its third-generation vehicle, an electric sedan that will be sold for less than 40 thousand dollars. telsa says it hopes to select a site this year, and begin making the electric car batteries in 2017.
